Shawn’s resume as a runner and multisport athlete is long, and growing every weekend. From marathons to Ironman triathlons and everything in between, there isn’t a whole lot that he hasn’t accomplished. Shawn has been around the sport for over 15 years and has served as race organizer & director, high school coach, multisport club leader, and athlete; usually at the same time! Whether it’s helping a young athlete learn how to train for a 5k, or showing a new triathlete the fine art of transitioning, Shawn is always there to pass on his knowledge and help others reach their goals.
First tri was Diamond in the Rough in 2008, swam and ran competitively in high school race in 2005, has competed in every major distance from 5k run to full iron man as well as adventure races lasting 48 hours!
Avid social rider has completed metric and english century rides, marathons, and raced on multisport relay teams. She is involved in the Bike for Breast Cancer, Greg Krause Memorial Helmet Rides, and a member of the Chesapeake Spokes and Harford Velo Clubs
West Point Record Breaking Swim Team, Has raced in all distances from 5k running races to Full Iron Man Distance races
Mark has been riding bikes since he was 5 and completed his first 80 mile bike ride at the age of 12. He started running in 1995 and completed numerous 5K, 10K, and half marathons. His interest in water events include open water swimming and is scuba certified. His first triathlon was in 1998 when he competed in the Sweet Water Sprint Triathlon in Georgia. He has completed the Chesapeake Bay Swim, Lake Tahoe Century Ride, and numerous sprint and Olympic Triathlons.
Completed her first half marathon in 2005. Since then Lois has raced in 5ks, sprint, and olympic distance triathlons. She is consistently ranking at the top of the list of females in the bike portion of the race and her swim / run are strong enough to maintain solid age group finisher
Has been racing competitively since 1972 when participating in High School Track & Field as middle distance / sprinter. Since then Bob has gone a long distance racing in century and beyond races, 5k to half marathon running races. In 2009 Bob completed his first Triathlon at 52 years old and finished first in his age group while setting records for the event.
2010 kicked off Matt’s racing career at the Great Atlantic Ocean Triathlon. Since joining the club he has gone from surviving a short distance race to competing in 1/2 marathons and continues to improves in all 3 disciplines of triathlon and now finishes strong with a smile on his face.
After completing a career in field hockey at Towson University, Julie began recreational running to keep in shape. In 2005 she decided to take her long time love of running and start entering local races. In 2007 Julie stepped up to another level when finishing and winning the New York Levittown Kiwanis 5k in 21:25. In 2009 she discovered the world of multisport, racing in the Philadelphia Women’s Duathlon. She conquered her fear of water and completed her first triathlon at the North East Tri in 2010.
